Ciné Schools Ambassador and Oscar Award winner Tarn Villers has special role in Awards Gala

As an ambassador for Ciné Schools, Tarn Willers, the Oscar Award winning Production Sound Mixer, has been supporting CIFF Partner Ciné Schools, behind the scenes, with many aspects of its ambition to bring filmmaking opportunities to young people across the UK.

This summer will see the first recipients of the Ciné Schools Young Filmmaker, Level 1, Understanding Filmmaking, award. It is an award that is the first of its kind and has been developed with input from partners across the film industry and support from AccessNFTS who will be working closely with Ciné Schools on future projects to expand it’s reach into schools all over the UK..

More than 160 children, aged between 8 and 15, will receive their certificate at or shortly after the Festival. Tarn will be there on Friday the 6th of June, to introduce the certificate and celebrate the achievement of these children who have spent the whole of this academic year working towards this through the Film Academies running in their schools.
