The festive season is almost upon us - just 29 days to Christmas day itself - and here at CIFF centre we have started the eternal debate around which Christmas movie is the best. No logical reason required, just great fun curled up on the sofa with the Quality Street and the TV remote.
Here goes, in no particular order, the team’s recommendations for you this Christmas, and maybe on into the new year:
Die Hard - the first movie, but two and three are worth adding in for a full day of Bruce, at his best, action adventure.
Home Alone 2 - took some debating but the second time Kevin is accidentally left behind comes out top of the trilogy.
Nativity - absolute comedy gold and full on family friendly.
It’s A wonderful Life - make time for this timeless classic, no matter how many times you have watched it before.
Love Actually - a set of intersecting love stories set during the run-up to Christmas, featuring a star-studded cast.
About A Boy - a Christmas anthem you can never remember provides the basis for this heart warming tale!
A Christmas Story - a humorous, nostalgic tale of one youngster's obsession with his perfect Christmas gift.
Jingle All The Way - A chaotic, candy-coloured holiday scramble that turns consumer madness into slapstick fun, with a truly festive heart.
National Lampoons Christmas Vacation - full of laughs and festive cheer, just add your own cheese and port.
Polar Express - a Christmas Eve up-late-treat for the younger members of the family. It's not so long that they won’t be in bed and asleep before Santa arrives.
Please let us know in the comments which festive movie will be top of your watch list this Christmas and why.
