Submissions to The Children’s International Film Festival are deliberately wide open. There’s no theme, because imagination doesn’t like barriers. Films can be made using any equipment at all — a phone, a tablet, a DSLR, or something held together with hope and gaffer tape. What matters is the idea.
Films should be no longer than five minutes, keeping them sharp, playful, and purposeful. There’s also no restriction on media: we welcome animation, live action, hybrid work, documentary, archival pieces, silent films, and even machinima – stories created inside computer games. If it moves,
speaks, glitches, or quietly observes the world, it belongs here.

We recommend sending the finished film using WeTransfer (wetransfer.com) - send your download link to info@ciffest.org. However, we will happily accept films sent via all the usual file sharing services: Google Drive, Drop Box, Hightail and many more.

In the subject of your email please write SUBMISSION | (School/Organisation Name). In the body of your email please include the synopsis of your film and separately a nominee for 'Star of the Year. This is someone who has been a real star throughout the production, someone who has had to battle adversity to fulfil, and go above and beyond, their role in the production. Please describe what they did to achieve that moment and describe the journey they went on during production. They will be considered for our final award of the festival: ’Star of the Year’. Please only use first name and initial for surname, e.g. David. P.

In addition to sending through your film as above, please complete the Release Form with your contact details. The form is all online here.
